The Organization

Driscoll Children’s Hospital was built in 1953, born from the love and compassion of its founder, Clara Driscoll, the granddaughter of a Texas patriot. Driscoll Children’s Hospital can serve the needs of children today because of a generous gift from Clara Driscoll over 70 years ago. As part of her will, she requested a fund be created to maintain a charitable hospital for indigent children—along with the creation of the Robert Driscoll and Julia Driscoll and Robert Driscoll Jr. Foundation to handle the assets and hospital financials.

Each year, Driscoll sees over 300,000 patients across its hospitals, clinics and South Texas’ first free-standing pediatric emergency room. Families from South Texas and beyond come to Driscoll with illnesses, injuries and even the rarest conditions. Together, its team of clinical staff, medical and surgical specialists, maintenance, administration and volunteers work to bring the very best care to every child they see. While the work of healing children never stops, Driscoll makes sure families are never in it alone. Because together, we heal.

Driscoll Children’s Hospital Rio Grande Valley

Just like the care families expect at the Corpus Christi hospital, the new Driscoll Children’s Hospital Rio Grande Valley provides world-class doctors, personalized treatments and cutting-edge technologies.
