OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION 
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a distinguished executive team as President of the flagship hospital of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, which has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the best hospitals in Memphis. The new leader will have the distinction to help shape the future of a premier teaching hospital committed to high-quality care for those served. Methodist University Hospital is seeking a leader who will guide the hospital's strategic path, ensure financial stability, and lead operational excellence. The next President will play a crucial role in continuing to foster a culture of excellence and enhancing the overall care being delivered at the facility, in alignment with the organization’s core values of service, quality, integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

Reporting to the EVP/COO of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, this executive will oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital and spearhead strategic initiatives to enhance quality, patient outcomes, workforce development, and the overall patient experience. Emphasizing collaborative leadership, the President will work with the management team and health system leadership to ensure quality improvement initiatives, patient safety protocols, and evidence-based practices are hardwired to enhance clinical outcomes, reduce medical errors, and improve patient satisfaction. The President will drive financial efficiency, optimize resources (such as the newly installed Epic electronic medical record system), and uphold the highest standards of care.

The President is expected to be a highly effective, experienced, consensus-building leader who will inspire as well as drive operational efficiencies to the organization as it continues to raise the bar on delivering the best-in-class services. EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must exemplify strategic leadership, innovation, collaboration, and a steadfast focus on achieving results.

Healthcare Executive Leadership Experience
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a healthcare organization, demonstrating the ability to create and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Ten years of progressive leadership in healthcare, with at least five years in a senior-level executive role.
Proven Performance Improvement Experience
  • Extensive background in developing and managing financial strategies, with a strong track record of optimizing resource allocation and enhancing financial performance.
  • Proven capability in revitalizing operational aspects of organizations to achieve sustained improvements.
Healthcare Operations Experience
  • Comprehensive experience in overseeing hospital operations, including clinical services, with a focus on operational efficiency and high quality of care.
  • A keen operational and business sense, with a solid understanding of the healthcare business; a strategic thinker.
Innovation and Program Development Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and support innovative programs addressing both current and future healthcare needs.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
