Korn Ferry is proud to partner with Skagit Regional Health to lead the search for their next Regional Director of Risk, Compliance, and Patient Safety. This role is based onsite in Mount Vernon, WA.

Skagit Regional Health (SRH) is seeking a strategic, system-level leader to serve as Regional Director of Risk Management, Compliance, and Patient Safety. Reporting to the Chief Quality Officer, this role will lead an integrated approach to enterprise risk, regulatory compliance, and patient safety across a growing, multi-site health system.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity with direct engagement at the executive and board level, helping shape a culture of safety, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Skagit Regional Health is a nonprofit, community-owned health system serving approximately 140,000 residents across northwest Washington. The organization includes two hospitals, 25+ outpatient clinics, and 3 urgent care centers, supported by 3,500 employees and nearly $700M in annual revenue. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead system-wide risk management, compliance, and patient safety strategy
  • Oversee claims management, litigation support, and insurance programs
  • Ensure organizational compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Direct compliance investigations, audits, and training programs
  • Drive patient safety initiatives, including event review and root cause analysis
  • Partner with executive and clinical leaders to embed a culture of safety
  • Provide reporting and insights to senior leadership and the Board

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of healthcare leadership experience, including compliance and/or risk management
  • Experience in an acute care or health system environment strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • CPHRM or similar certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality improvement, and legal processes
