The Opportunity 

We are seeking a Senior Director - Digital Infrastructure to build a profitable cloud strategy and drive adoption across the enterprise. This role partners with the business to develop robust plans that capture competitive market advantages and accelerate innovation. The Senior Director will evaluate and recommend best-in-class cloud-as-a-service (CaaS) offerings, enabling self-service, intelligent, and automated processes across digital technologies. Responsibilities include evaluating and migrating the right applications to the cloud, managing human capital, defining budgets and departmental direction, driving process improvement, innovation, and customer obsession.

In addition, the role will oversee network Infrastructure and connectivity across the enterprise including firewalls, routers, switches, and circuits for both cloud and at all office, manufacturing, and distribution sites. The Senior Director will ensure services are secure, reliable, and resilient. The Senior Director will be accountable for projects such as site and micro segmentation, resilient connectivity in our critical sites, security hardening of devices, piloting cellular connectivity in manufacturing, and implementing AIOps into Operations. The leadership track is accountable for securing the operations, data, and performance of both cloud and network infrastructure across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and execute the enterprise cloud and network strategy — setting a multi-year strategic roadmap that aligns technology direction with the long-term strategy of the business.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and executive partner to senior business leaders across the global enterprise, translating organizational vision and desired business outcomes into the right enterprise technology solution design.
  • Lead a multi-tier global organization — directing multiple teams of managers, senior engineers and architects across cloud and network functions through performance management, coaching, succession and career development — promoting a people-first culture aligned with DT C.A.R.E. competencies of customer obsession, agility, results and entrepreneurship.
  • Coach and develop managers and senior staff in technical, financial and business-impact forecasting to support process continuity, leadership succession and enterprise strategic planning.
  • Influence and align business and technology leaders around a multi-year strategic roadmap including performance metrics, milestones and optimization outcomes that quantify enterprise impact.
  • Own and approve financial management practices including annual plans, multi-year capital and operating budgets, FinOps cloud-spend governance, ROI reviews and recommendations to improve enterprise efficiency, agility and return on technology investment.
  • Optimize enterprise architecture, departmental best practices, policies and procedures across IT operations, project methodologies and governance — ensuring alignment with global Digital Technology targets and standards.
  • Steward compliance with IT, cybersecurity and business policies, audit requirements and technical reporting obligations across the enterprise.
  • Drive the enterprise multi-cloud strategy — defining cloud architecture standards across Azure commercial, Azure Government (GCC High) and other strategic platforms; leading application portfolio rationalization and cloud migration; championing hybrid-cloud and platform engineering best practices; and embedding automation, AI and self-service across the cloud estate.
  • Direct the global enterprise network — architecture and operations of firewalls, routers, switches, circuits, SD-WAN, SASE, zero-trust segmentation, wireless and cellular — ensuring secure, resilient, high-availability connectivity across all office, manufacturing and distribution sites and connected cloud environments.
  • Modernize critical infrastructure — site and micro-segmentation, resilient connectivity at critical sites, network device security hardening, cellular connectivity pilots in manufacturing, and AIOps adoption across both network and cloud operations.
  • Function as an enterprise agent for change, championing technology and business transformation, and serving as the channel between executive leadership and senior staff to communicate change impacts, risk mitigation and strategic business objectives.
  • Strengthen organizational understanding of core business domains — digital manufacturing, ecommerce, advanced digital solutions and ERP — to inform enterprise strategic planning, adaptability and competitive positioning, and drive Oshkosh’s mission, vision and values in daily leadership and decision-making.


The Candidate

Experience and Professional Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive enterprise technology leadership experience, with demonstrated breadth across cloud platforms, enterprise networking and large, complex, mission-critical IT environments.
  • 8+ or more years of management experience, including a proven track record as a leader of leaders — managing managers, senior engineers and architects and developing high-performing technology teams within a multifaceted, global enterprise IT organization.
  • Demonstrated executive presence with the ability to influence at every level of the enterprise, from engineers to the executive leadership team, and to communicate complex enterprise technology strategy in business terms.
  • Proven track record leading enterprise cloud transformations across multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud environments — including cloud platform strategy, application migration, cloud architecture standards, automation, AI/ML enablement and FinOps cloud financial governance.
  • Deep enterprise network leadership experience including modern network architecture (SD-WAN, SASE, zero trust, micro-segmentation), security hardening, high-availability design and operations across globally distributed manufacturing, distribution and office environments.
  • Strong foundation in enterprise IT management frameworks and methodologies including ITIL, COBIT, agile, scrum, design thinking and enterprise risk management, applied to elevate operational performance and service delivery at scale.
  • Proven capability in enterprise financial planning, multi-year budgeting and capital planning — including forecasting, spend management, ROI analysis and using financial insight to guide enterprise technology decisions, vendor strategy and resource allocation. Experience stewarding multi-million-dollar technology portfolios required.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to understand core enterprise business drivers, interpret data and analytics, translate business requirements into enterprise technical solutions, and lead strategic and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Strength in stakeholder relationship building, executive negotiation, cross-functional collaboration and influencing at the most senior levels of the organization — fostering trust and alignment across business units, geographies and brand portfolios.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach and develop other leaders, facilitate executive discussions, delegate effectively and lead organizations through ambiguity, transformation and continuous change. Skilled in storytelling, executive communication and public speaking — particularly in translating complex technical strategy into clear business-impact narratives for the executive leadership team.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, resilience and problem-solving ability in fast-moving enterprise environments with competing strategic priorities.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience at a fortune 500 company and/or company with government contracts
  • Hands-on strategic experience with Azure commercial and Azure Government (GCC High) cloud environments, and recognized industry certifications across cloud architecture, enterprise networking or enterprise architecture.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required in a technology, engineering or related field; Master’s degree (MBA or technology discipline) preferred.
