Korn Ferry is pleased to be partnering with Capital Health to find an exceptional candidate for the position of Medical Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health.
Summary of the Position
The new Director will be responsible for translating institutional priorities into operational tactics to achieve goals. They will oversee and partner with facility operations leadership, taking direct responsibility for all outpatient operations, including service line development and oversight of new outpatient clinical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead efforts to create a strategic vision for a world-class integrated Behavioral Health program that improves access, grows market share, and reduces outmigration.
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to create Centers of Excellence programs, enhancing patient-centric care.
Expand and promote the clinical programs portfolio to increase patient participation.
Identify opportunities to attract and engage constituents to inspire philanthropic support.
The Candidate
Experience and Professional Qualifications
Medical Degree (MD or DO), Residency trained, and Board Certified in Psychiatry.
Eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey.
Preferred: Management education (MBA or MHS).
Skills and Competencies
Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including medical staff management within a complex, matrixed institution.
Ability to grow, develop, and integrate comprehensive behavioral health services.
Strong internal and external relationship-building skills.
Strategic “systems thinker” with expertise in integrated healthcare systems.
Ability to drive the implementation of strategic and operating plans.
Consensus-oriented with “respectful courage” and influential leadership skills.
Experience in aligning and sustaining quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
Ability to anticipate critical issues, opportunities, and threats.
Proven track record in recruiting high-impact physicians and building cohesive teams.
Strategic influence, organizational change leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
Experience in developing innovative educational programs, community engagement, and research activities.

High ethical standards, emotional intelligence, and political savvy.
