Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Field Service Technician (Leak Detection) – this is a Fully Remote role covering Northeastern US territories (Southern MD, Western MD, Washington DC/N. MD/N. VA area, Delaware, New Jersey)

Compensation: $25.00-30.00/hour + OT + Commission (+ company vehicle)
What You Will Do:
Training and Onboarding: Leak detection is a highly specialized field, so the training process is extensive and hands-on. New hires initially ride with experienced technicians and rotate among different team members to gain exposure to various job types and troubleshooting methods. As they progress, they are assigned straightforward jobs they can complete independently.
The ramp-up period is generally four to six months but may take longer depending on the technician’s development. At approximately six to twelve months, technicians may begin receiving exposure to more advanced correlator work through supervised, on-the-job training.
Pool technicians may attend a dedicated one-week pool leak detection and repair training program in Orlando.
Responsible for the daily production activities of the shift, including labor scheduling, production planning, facility and equipment safety, and production quality. Ensures projected performance is reached on all lines including changeover, downtime and quality objectives.
Day To Day:
- Leak detection on interior and exterior residential & commercial properties, pools and spas to diagnose the cause and origin of concealed leaks, structural leaks and water infiltration damage
- Work outdoors & away from the office
- Repair plumbing pipes and drain systems
- Communicate with management, colleagues, and customers, providing professional courteous customer service
- Master underground line tracking, drain cameras, acoustic, ultrasonic, and infrared technologies
- Residential and commercial plumbing leak detection; pool leak detection and repair, especially during the summer
- Smoke testing to locate leaks in sewer systems
- Government and municipal projects involving service lines beneath streets
- Leak detection on pressurized water systems that often cannot be shut down
- Isolated acoustic testing and advanced correlation work requiring a high degree of accuracy
- Gas-tracing methods, including filling water lines with nitrogen and listening for escaping gas
- Operating valves, pumps, and other mechanical components
- Completing service reports and communicating findings to customers and the office
Education and Work Experience
- At least 4 years US Military Active Duty experience required
- Must have mechanical aptitude and trainability; prior leak detection experience is NOT required.
- Strong Plumbing background highly preferred (Journeyman Plumbing license will give you a huge advantage over other candidates.)
