UW Facilities (UWF) oversees the management of the university's buildings, infrastructure, and land. Structured into six units, UWF ensures efficient campus operations while advancing sustainability and addressing capital reinvestment.

Position Purpose
The Assistant Vice President of Real Estate Development leads UW's real estate initiatives, focusing on economic development and public-private partnerships to align with institutional needs and priorities. The Assistant Vice President of Real Estate Development plays a pivotal role in advancing UW's strategic objectives through effective real estate management and development. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and strategic planning, this position contributes to UW's mission of academic excellence and community impact.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

(1) Executive Leadership [20%]
- Serve as a member of UW Facilities VP Staff Team, ensuring efficient communication and transparency with stakeholders.
- Chair important committees, boards, and governance groups, contributing to UW Facilities' reputation for excellence.
- Foster professional growth within the Real Estate group and across Facilities, providing expert guidance on real estate stewardship and operations.
- Represent UW in professional organizations, conferences, and events.

(2) Development [40%]
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue real estate opportunities, fostering relationships with external entities.
- Lead recruitment of developers for Public/Private Partnership projects, negotiating transactions and ensuring adherence to regulations.
- Provide visionary leadership for the University's West Campus Vision, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for successful project execution.

(3) Real Estate Services and Asset Management [15%]
- Oversee delivery of real estate services and asset management, managing leased and owned portfolios across UW campuses.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director of Real Estate to ensure effective operations and financial management.

(4) Metropolitan Tract [10%]
- Collaborate with the Director of the Metropolitan Tract to optimize the performance of downtown assets, balancing development opportunities with asset management.

(5) Advisory Committee on Real Estate (ACRE) [10%]
- Lead ACRE to leverage industry expertise for the institution's strategic benefit, ensuring alignment with UW's goals and governance policies.

(6) Additional Duties [5%]
- Fulfill various responsibilities as required to support UW Facilities' objectives.

Education, Experience, Skills & Attributes

Required:
- Bachelor's degree with 15 years of real estate experience, including leadership roles.
- Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Experience in public-private partnerships and real estate transactions.
- Ability to navigate complex decision-making environments.
- Proficiency in real estate finance and project management.

Desired:
- Experience in the public sector or higher education.

Salary Range:
Total: $275,000 - $320,000
