The National Art School (NAS), Australia’s leading studio-based art institution, is seeking a visionary Director and CEO to provide artistic, educational, and operational leadership. This role requires strategic oversight to further enhance NAS’s national and international reputation, fostering its influence in the arts and education sectors.

As Director and CEO, you will lead a vibrant community of approximately 200 staff and 600 full-time students, ensuring the delivery of NAS’s world-class programs in painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, and more. You will manage the school’s annual budget and optimise its resources while maintaining NAS’s commitment to cultural diversity, equity, and ethical practices.

Key responsibilities include positioning NAS at the forefront of contemporary art, building partnerships across the arts community, and driving innovation in the school’s academic offerings. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in higher education leadership, financial management, and the arts, as well as a proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships.

You will advocate for NAS across public, private, and government sectors, securing philanthropic support and fostering collaborations with national and international arts institutions.
