Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Fan Experience Department of the Toronto Blue Jays, this full-time position is responsible for the overall vision, planning and execution of all themed events at the ballpark e.g. Pride Night. In addition, this person is responsible for all vendor management, as well as the booking and management of talent in event spaces around the ballpark e.g. Outfield District performers at Rogers Centre. The incumbent will report directly to the Director, Promotions and will assist in elevating and improving our fan experience each season. - Drive the planning and execution of all Blue Jays promotional programming, events and theme days to create a cohesive experience for fans throughout the ballpark.
- Manage a multi-million dollar budget (approx. $3-4M) for theme days and game entertainment, ensuring alignment with brand standards and fan engagement goals.
- Provide hands-on leadership for a large part-time team of approximately 65 brand ambassadors, including hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Supervise two direct reports: a Coordinator of Promotions and a Coordinator of Theme Day Activations, ensuring seamless communication and execution across all initiatives.
- Management and inventory of all event storage and organization throughout the ballpark.
- Work alongside the Director, Promotions, and Manager, Giveaways & Promotions Programming on the planning and execution, of promotions, theme days and fan activations while continuously pushing creativity to get better through every theme and program.
- Work with many teams across the ballpark to plan and execute the promotion & experience for each promotion including; Game Entertainment, Communications, Production, Merchandise & Retail etc.
- Management of all external vendors with a focus on sourcing, quoting, designing, logistics and day-to-day management of the relationship with each vendor. This includes entertainment partners and event suppliers (e.g., staging, décor, graphics), ensuring high-quality execution and cost-effective solutions.
- Manage overall operations of game day entertainment including vendor relationships, budgeting, vision and execution, inclusive of theme days, Outfield District and the Premium Clubs.
- Alongside the Game Entertainment team, program and manage live entertainment for every home game and additional events as required.
- Work closely and collaboratively with Events, Promotions, Marketing and Game Entertainment teams to ensure all promotions and theme days are in line with TBJ brand.
- In collaboration with Game Entertainment teams, support on training and season-long engagement with J FORCE teams and Blue Jays Mascots (ACE and Junior) when applicable.
- Manage the overall budgets of the department and input quotes & invoices for processing and payment. Work with vendors to negotiate costs to ensure budgets are being maximized throughout the season. Meet with finance monthly to ensure POs & payment schedules are up to date.
- Assist with any on-field aspects of game day entertainment, pregame, and in-game elements associated with promotions as required.
- Ability to understand and contribute to the Promotions strategy at a high level, focusing on the big picture while bringing creative ideas to the team.
- Ensuring that achieving a best-in-class fan experience is always top of mind & consistently working to improve it.
- Ability to understand and contribute new ideas for programs and products through various working groups.
- Oversee the Coordinator, Promotions & Theme Day Activations and Coordinator, Activation Team as direct reports.
- Taking ownership in managing of Part Time Activation Team staff who support on all Toronto Blue Jays & Rogers Centre events ensuring that they embody CLEAR values and deliver on a best-in-class fan experience.
- Write collateral and material for promotions.
- Oversee the coordination of requests of smaller scale product orders including secondary prizing and theme day uniforms for staff.
- Work with the Director, Promotions on the season promotional plan in order to hit attendance and ticketing revenue. Assist in managing the tracking of all promotion for each home game and giveaways
- Lead the annual research into other teams and brands for best practice in sports and live event promotions
- Organize presentation decks of all promotions to assist in the sales and promotion of items year to year
- Responsible for managing and coordinating swag items, in-stadium giveaway items and game day promotions with Partnerships and Game Entertainment
- Contribute to creating and maintaining a collaborative culture across internal departments and game day teams.

- Be present and engaged during early morning and game-day activations, demonstrating a hands-on, “boots on the ground” leadership style.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in promotions, activations, or experiential marketing, ideally within sports, entertainment, or agency environments.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale events and activations from concept to execution, with strong vendor management and budget oversight skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with large teams, including part-time staff, with a focus on mentorship, accountability, and brand representation.

- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with the MLB season schedule.
- Experience in live entertainment, festivals, concerts, or sports activations is highly valued; familiarity with baseball operations is a plus.

Education
- Post-secondary education preferred in Marketing, Events, Communications or Sport Management.
