The CEO of the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee is seeking to appoint a critical member of the Executive team, the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shape and deliver the people strategy for the most complex and inspiring global events.

The CHRO will lead the Human Resources (HR) division, overseeing all aspects of organisational design, workforce planning, remuneration, industrial relations, workplace health and safety, training and development, recruitment and retention, volunteer programs, workforce operations and uniforms. With a workforce that will number over one hundred thousand, including employees, contractors and volunteers, the CHRO will be responsible for building the strategy to support a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven culture.

The CHRO will be a strategic advisor to the CEO and a key member of the Executive Team, ensuring that the HR function is aligned with Brisbane 2032’s strategic, operational and commercial objectives. They must bring deep expertise in contemporary HR leadership in businesses of significant scale (10,000+ people), change management, and stakeholder engagement, ideally with experience relevant to major sporting events, or similarly complex environments. A strong understanding of workforce planning, diversity and inclusion, and financial stewardship is essential.
