Role Summary:
• Title: Senior Financial Analyst
• Reports To: FP&A Manager
• Location: Southlake, TX
• Work Arrangement: Onsite
• Team Scope: Work closely with Finance, Accounting, department leaders, and operational teams to analyze performance, understand business drivers, and improve financial decision-making across multiple business units and branch locations
• Primary Focus: Deliver financial analysis, forecasting, management reporting, and strategic insights while serving as a key finance partner to operational and leadership teams across the organization
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting cycles while partnering with department managers to develop accurate financial plans
• Develop and maintain financial models supporting strategic planning, capital investments, pricing decisions, and profitability analysis
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages and provide variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance
• Analyze financial performance across individual business units and branch locations to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Monitor and report on key financial and operating metrics including gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA, and working capital
• Translate financial results and complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership
• Partner with operational leaders to better understand business drivers, costs, trends, and opportunities to improve financial performance
• Support month-end and year-end close processes by working closely with Accounting to ensure accurate financial results and appropriate accruals
• Assist with annual financial audits and support compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies
• Develop dashboards, financial reporting tools, and analytical resources that improve visibility into business performance
• Drive improvements to financial reporting processes, tools, and data quality
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support strategic projects as business needs arise
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
• MBA or CPA preferred
• 5+ years of progressive financial analysis, FP&A, or corporate finance experience
• Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and variance analysis
• Strong understanding of GAAP and the three primary financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial modeling
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, Tableau, or similar reporting and analytics tools preferred
• ERP system experience required; Microsoft Business Central or Epicor Prelude experience is a plus
• Experience within distribution, automotive, diesel, transportation, or another operationally intensive industry is a plus
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify the underlying drivers behind financial performance
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Self-starter who is intellectually curious, takes ownership, and enjoys partnering directly with the business
