The Opportunity
The Vice President, Business Development partners with the Chief Growth Officer and other leaders and key stakeholders in developing, executing, communicating and sustaining organizational strategic initiatives. This position will be responsible for assisting and formalizing the organization's strategic planning process and leading the development and execution of various strategies. This position will collaborate with various physicians across the system to improve relationships with employed and contracted physicians, improve share of care and identify and assist in the development and expansion of new or current services and programs. They will assist in monitoring and assessing service line performance by key performance indicators, gather competitive intelligence from the community on service line opportunities, and then assist the Chief Growth Officer to execute and implement appropriate transactions to enhance the growth of the business. This will be accomplished by effectively executing the responsibilities below, and by living the Froedtert ThedaCare mission, vision and guiding principles.
The Ideal Candidate
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field (MBA/MHA) strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive senior leadership in business development, strategy, corporate development, business transactions or healthcare management consulting within large integrated delivery networks or academic health systems.
- Possess the traits to demonstrate success in transactions (affiliations, JV models, acquisitions) and contractual relationships; hands on expertise in executing transactions, post-transaction integration and value realization.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare operations, planning cycles, risk alignment, and performance frameworks (Balanced Scorecard, KSOs, dashboards).
- Strong analytic and critical thinking skills integrating financial, clinical, market, and community health data; advanced fluency in scenario planning and opportunity-cost analyses.
- Credible communicator; adept at influencing and consensus building, negotiating, and collaborating across clinical, operational, corporate, and functional areas.
- Portfolio management experience in a matrixed environment, with a proven track record of delivering measurable outcomes.
- Exceptional relationship skills, particularly with physicians, and the ability to influence particularly is a must.
