Position Summary
- Develops and executes supply chain strategies aligned with Health System goals and patient care priorities.
- Leads initiatives to reduce costs, improve service levels, and increase operational efficiency.
- Collaborates with clinical, finance, and executive leadership to align supply chain decisions with care delivery needs.
- Drives sustainability, resiliency, and risk-mitigation initiatives across the Health System supply chain.
- Practices and implements process improvement principles and oversees assessment of Health System supply chain.
- Align the value proposition of the supply chain KPI’s to the expectation of the Executive Leadership Team.
- Oversees sourcing, contracting, and purchasing of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, capital equipment, and services.
- Negotiates contracts with vendors, group purchasing and distributors.
- Oversees and manages vendor performance, compliance, and relationships.
- Builds and manages strategic supplier partnerships in key markets.
- Negotiates high-impact contracts to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and reliability.
- Ensures optimal inventory levels to support Health System operations while minimizing waste and shortages.

- Career track of progressive, documented accomplishments in increasingly complex supply chain management roles in a large, complex organization or multi-facility enterprise. Ideal professional record demonstrates the capacity to establish leadership of a service-oriented function within a health system as top VP/SVP, Supply Chain or Chief Supply Chain Officer.
- Skill to proactively advise and educate management on all aspects of supply chain management including opportunities and threats. Demonstrated record of serving as an advisor and consultant to leadership on best practices for procurement, logistics and supply chain technology to minimize cost while maximizing quality and efficiency. The position will communicate and coordinate with key individuals across finance and operations and as such must be skilled in working in a team-oriented environment.
- Management expertise to direct, plan and organize the supply chain operations of Billings Clinic – Logan Health including both short-and long-range planning, supply budgeting, and ongoing economic impact analysis. Ability to communicate information and collaborate with management and outside stakeholders, including suppliers, services vendors, relevant governmental agencies, and other external partners.
- Strong external relationships and leadership across the health care supply chain community. Utilizes aggregation opportunities with vendors to lower overall supply and service expenditures.
- Substantial experience with ERP systems and supply chain analytics.
- Logistics experience to manage a diverse portfolio including off-site warehouses and a case cart operations center, on-site inpatient, surgical and procedural inventory management, retail and linen services and centralized equipment.
- Financial expertise to manage the complete procure to pay cycle including accounts payable, payment cards, travel program, refund management, regulatory compliance. Demonstrated experience managing multi-million dollar budgets.
- Leadership skills to support supply chain sustainability initiatives reflected in both contracting and procurement policies.
