The Military Division of Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for a Chief Engineer in Richmond VA.
* This company is specifically looking for candidates with at least 4 years US Military Leadership experience. US Navy veterans highly preferred. *
Strong Industrial Maintenance background required – must have hands-on experience with boilers, air compressors, pumps and other critical industrial systems.
Compensation: $125,000-140,000 (+ company car and relocation bonus)
Travel: 25-30% regional travel (approximately 2 months/year)
What You Will Do:
Oversee maintenance operations across multiple sites, ensuring that boilers, air compressors, pumps, and other critical systems are operating efficiently. Manage a team of engineer and maintenance personnel; responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of plant equipment.
- Provide hands-on guidance and troubleshooting expertise in the repair and maintenance of industrial systems (boilers, air compressors, pumps, etc.)
- Mentor and develop the maintenance team, ensuring technical proficiency and compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with industrial equipment, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Ensure proper installation, modification, and repair of equipment, with focus on long-term reliability and cost-efficiency.
Education and Work Experience
- at least 4 years US Military experience REQUIRED (US Navy veterans preferred)
- 7+ years in plant engineering or industrial maintenance required (preferably with an industrial background in similar roles)
- Must have hands-on experience with boilers, air compressors, pumps, and other critical industrial systems.
- Strong knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, with experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
- Proven leadership skills in managing teams, developing staff and overseeing multiple plant locations.
